Northern Monk Brewery Wasted Christmas Mince Pie Imperial Stout
THE BREWERY SAYS:
If there’s one thing that screams Christmas, it’s the pure, festive indulgence of a mince pie, and this year we’ve packed 2,000 of them into a beer – for good reason.
After learning that 74 million (!) mince pies are thrown away every Christmas, we’ve teamed up with our old friends The Real Junk Food Project to raise awareness of food waste by producing this Imperial Stout, with 2,000 mince pies of unsold stock from supermarkets.
This dark, delectable stout carries aromas of currants, toffee, and dark roast coffee, as the mincemeat lends its warmly spiced dried fruit character, synonymous with the dessert we all love.
