We were delighted to be approached by award winner beer writer Jonny Garrett to brew one of four beers celebrating his new book, A Year in Beer, and we chose Summer.

Being the hottest time of the year, choosing a Pale Lager was the easy bit, but we wanted to come up with a recipe that encapsulated summertime as a state of mind. In collaboration with Jonny we decided that meant the beautiful sunset gold of a Czech-style Pilsner, with its subtle honey malt notes from the decoction mash and floral vibes from the Saaz. This combination of flavours sing of summer to us no matter where we may be, and in our true house style the beer is dry and super refreshing!
